Lyrial Eailiolery

Post by forgerofsouls » Sun Sep 07, 2014 11:23 pm

Name:
Lyrial Eailiolery (This is a vastly shortened version of her name, as her kind tend to have names that take about an hour to say, thus this is the name she gives to everyone) (Pronounced: Lie-re-ale E-ah-ill-e-ol-ery)

Species:
Worldeater (Sealed)

Age:
2,544,666 Earth Years

Gender:
Female

Appearance:
While she appears to be human, those that take a closer look see that her ears are more elven than human like. Her eyes also keep shifting colors, like a rainbow mixture, though her mood determines a dominant color. Despite her age is beyond belief to mortals, or even many young immortals, she is by no means an adult. She even has the physical maturity of a young teen roughly aged 14-15. Though her bust happens to be rather flat, indeed, an A cup bra would almost be too big. She has long hair reaching to her knees that she keeps neat and clean. Her hair color change daily based on what she wants it to be. She can manifest any type of clothing she wants. She stands about 5' tall and weighs around 95 lb.

Personality:
She is very proud and arrogant, or so that’s how people often view her. In reality, she puts up a front because she is fragile and hates being emotionally hurt by others. She is also very caring about others and tends to try to help them if she can. When she gets hurt she tends to try to hide her tears by turning away from people, thus most people don't realize just how fragile she truly can be. When she dubs someone her friend she actually gives them the title "Great Friend of the Great Lyrial", which to her is far more important than any other title they may have. This makes many that don't know what she is think that she is vane. But in reality, in certain areas, by using that title, they gain lots of respect right away.

Traits:
True Immortality: Lyrial cannot die by any known means other than the combined might of many gods using the language of the universe or from Omega energy. Even her soul is indestructible. This type of immortality also makes her immune to poisons, diseases, negative energy, and other forms of draining life force. Despite her immortality, there are many ways to take care of Lyrial, as she has no real physical defenses beyond what she creates with her magic. She can easily be harmed with physical or magical means. And a bullet to her head acts like a bullet to anyone’s head for example, meaning that she falls over in a dead like state.

Extreme Speed and Agility: Just like it suggests Lyrial can move at great speed and agility. For all her speed and agility, she has no physical durability or strength. When it comes to physical durability and strength, she is basically a human. She also loses this speed and agility as she gets exhausted.

Ultimate Magic: Lyrial has such a powerful grasp of magic that she can do virtually anything with her magic...or she could if she wasn't sealed. As it stands...she can currently control, manipulate, and create magical and elemental energies and items. She can also use healing magic, which wasn't sealed, as it was deemed necessary to her survival....which really meant her ability to help others survive. Besides the typical magical and elemental energies, she can also use holy, divine, shadow, light, and omega energy. Lyrial also has full and complete control over the area, size and destructive power of any offensive spells (but due to the seal the destructive power and size of her spells are rather limited now). Normally her spells could consume an entire planet, but due to the seal on her, she can only make a large spell reach out to an area of 100 meters (this isn't for all spells), typically weak spells are small in area and require no energy for her to use them, while her more destructive spells require a good amount of energy. As far as healing goes, she can heal just about any type of injury on another creature, but when it comes to healing herself, she only has limited healing capabilities; instead she has to rely on her regenerative powers. She can bring back the dead to life (unless their soul has been completely and fully destroyed, this can even restore minds), but she only can do that about once a week (in Deep Forest time, not real time). She can fully remove poisons and diseases from creatures, even normally magic immune poisons/diseases can be treated by her, though the process is much slower. For most of her healing abilities she needs to be touching the still living person, for the dead, she doesn't need to touch them. Though she can only bring freshly dead people back to life (no more than a week). Plus, more about her abilities using Light, Holy, Shadow, Divine, and Omega energy. Using such abilities requires both hands, unlike using normal energies. But using such energies is taxing for her, and thus she usually doesn't cast spells using those energies. To better understand what her abilities are with her magic. She can create such energy at will to use however she sees fit, this is very limited to simple devices, and usually can't have moving parts. What this means is that she could create virtually anything, or even shape normally shapeless energies into shapes. But once again her seal comes into play, as they can't be overly huge or insane, instead they are rather limited to things like swords, armor, shields, doors, simple structures (such as a hut), etc. As powerful her magic is, she is currently still only at 5% her true power, which is still a good amount of power. Also she can't use to many holy, divine, omega, light, or shadow spells in a day, for those spells are exhausting to her. Also if she casts too many spells quickly she'll exhaust herself even quicker. She also needs both arms to cast spells based off of holy, divine, shadow, light, and omega energy.

Regeneration: Lyrial can regenerate herself over time, regardless of the damage done. As long as her soul remains, she will regenerate her body. Her regeneration allows her to regrow even if her entire body is destroyed. Unfortunately this is a timely process, and depending on the regrowth needed, can take hours to even weeks.

Sealed: Her true power if sealed away by no less than 100 deities. With the seal in place her spell power is only roughly 5% of what it could be, if not less. The seal on her also prevents her from using any lethal form of magic unless her life or the life of others is clearly in danger. At which point she is free to use lethal magic. Some defensive magic can be considered lethal and thus is also sealed until she is in danger.

Family:
Father: Ortho Eailiolery, Dead
Mother: Fiona Eailiolery, Dead
Brother: Joukig Eailiolery, Alive
Grandmother: Slyphianess, Goddess of Hope and Moons, Creator of the Eailiolery family. Favors Lyrial, but is currently disappointed in her.

Known History:
Along time ago, before anything else was created, the gods appeared, even they do not know how they came into being. Then they started creating planets. But as for any species, the gods were split on ideas. And so, the first War of the Gods started. At first it wasn't all that impressive, as there was no life on any planet during this war. And the gods decided to stay far away from one another. So, a side of the gods created extraordinary beings, no two was alike in appearance. The creatures didn't even have names. But the most powerful ones of these creatures were able to battle gods one on one. The other side, seeing what the other side did, created their own little army. Soon, a vast number of planets died and were crushed. The war ended in a stale mate. And the creatures were put to sleep by their creators.

Unknown time passed, and the gods had moved on and created other life forms, most would never be able to fight against the gods, all mortal, all easily killed. Even more time passed. Than good and evil sprung into being. Gods started taking up ideologies based off of these aspects. And soon, the evil gods woke up the sleeping creatures. The good gods also awoke their own creatures to fight the evil ones. Thus the second War of the Gods commenced. It was during this time period that mortals termed these creatures of immense size and power "Worldeaters" for two of these creatures fighting on a planet destroyed the whole planet, during this fight it was seen that the creatures were feeding off of spirit energy from other creatures and the planet itself. Thus they were named Worldeaters due to the fact that they ate the planet's soul, not the planet itself. Once again the war ended in a stalemate. Much destruction had been wrought on the universes. And even the evil gods wanted to rebuild. So the evil gods put their Worldeaters to sleep once again.

But the good gods, now having good intensions, felt guilty as to having used and abused their Worldeaters. Before the war, the Worldeaters, were simply living weapons of destruction. But the good gods realized that no living creature should be treated as such. And thus, the gods gave their Worldeaters sentience and the ability to think freely and of their own free will. The gods, had granted their Worldeaters, freedom and free will. The freed Worldeaters soon realized many other abilities they had. They also discovered emotions. These freed Worldeaters, forever swore an oath of allegiance and help to the gods that had freed them. This happened before any recorded history. And so, time passed, so much timed passed.

Lyrial's parents had met a long time ago, and had fallen in love. Unlike a human's love which can be short lived, the love of a Worldeater is eternal.

In time her parents gave birth to a son. Worldeaters come in three types, as is described by their abilities, melee, ranged (physical means), magic support. Their son was born a ranged Worldeater. After a very long time, Lyrial was born. She was born as magical support. Each type has abilities of the other types, but excels greatly at one area. Thus she had a happy life for a long time. She loved her parents and brother. But as is always the case with evil gods, they had enough of sitting in the shadows. To them it was play time. Once again the evil gods had awoken their Worldeaters. Once again the universes fell into darkness as a War of the Gods broke out. But this time, the Worldeaters that fought for good were able to do things their way. In a small amount of time (to gods and Worldeaters) the free Worldeaters had pushed their evil counterparts back. Good was winning.

Lyrial and her brother (who had become full grown and an adult) were also participating in the war. But as Lyrial was still young, the part she played was small, and her brother's task was to guard her. Thus when their parents were killed by a small group of enemy Worldeaters (who in turn was killed by their parents, it was mutual destruction) they didn't hear about it for years. When Lyrial finally found out, she went on a rampage. During this rampage, she accidently destroyed the good goddesses' favorite bathing place. Her brother finally calmed her down. But the damage was already done. The gods came together and passed judgment. 2,100,000 years sealed. She was dismayed at her own behavior and accepted her punishment without argument.

For the last 100,000 years she had been able to travel as she wished. But recently, she accidently destroy a temple belonging to one of the good gods, because she thought they were about to rape a young female elf that was naked...but it turns out that the only others at the temple at that time were females...it was a coming of age ceremony...she apologized deeply several times, but still, the god was upset. And again the gods were called. They decided that until otherwise decided, she should remain in one place. A place called, the Deep Forest. And so, they sent her there, hoping that she will be able to at least be at peace there.

Recently an incident changed things. And thus as much as things remained the same, things changed.

How did your character find these lands?:

Anything Else We Need to Know?:
Energy Table: Here is an overview of the basic energies she can use and the special energies she can use. For reference basic energies are Magical, Fire, Water, Earth, Electricity, Wind, Sonic, Positive, and Negative energies. Though she can combine these basic energies to create solid objects made from Wood, Metal, Ice, Dirt, Sand, Earth, Gems, and Minerals. The special energies that Lyrial uses are Holy, Shadow, Light, Divine, and Omega energies, though others exist (such as Unholy energy). Each Energy type plays a different role in her abilities as follows:

Magical: Very versatile. There is no real wrong way to use Magical energy. But it can’t take advantage of energy weakness, and it’s also impossible to have resistance to it unless you have resistance to magic in general.

Fire: Purely destructive in force, there is no real defensive ways that fire is used, except making walls, and surrounding the user in armor, which doesn't protect the user but hurts the foe that is attacking the user. The polar opposite of Water energy, fire magic cannot be used underwater.

Water: Somewhat supportive in nature with a very few ways to use it offensively. Excellent at making walls, filling holes, used as armor (slows objects done making it very difficult of damaging the target), and the energy can also be helpful in healing. The polar opposite of Fire energy. More powerful with a source of water already in the location (not including water conjured with magic, this does not include naturally magical waters already present).

Earth: Perhaps the best defensive magic is found here out of the basic energies. Very difficult to use as attack magic due to defensive nature. Makes very formidable armor at times. If used right can protect the user from all harm. The polar opposite of Electricity energy. Can't be used to create huge objects in the air (can only be no bigger than 6ft thick in all directions).

Electricity: A very dangerous offensive type magic, difficult to master, but deadly in skilled hands. Just like fire magic, electricity has virtually no defensive capabilities. The polar opposite of Earth energy. Harmless against rubber and solid ground.

Wind: Wind magic is a variable type magic in the effect that is effective as both attack and support. Difficult to control if not concentrated on. The polar opposite of Sonic energy. Useless against large metal structures (unless the wind speed is over 1,000,000 mph, which is impossible for Lyrial to achieve at the moment).

Sonic: Sonic magic is also a variable type magic equally useable in offense and support. Like Wind magic it to is difficult to use properly. The polar opposite of Wind energy. Useless against deaf targets most of the time unless the sonic energy is destructive to tissue or objects.

Positive: For the most part positive energy is basically life energy. This energy is the primary component of healing spells. Though used primarily in healing, there are a small number of applicable defenses and offenses. The polar opposite of Negative energy. Effective against Undead as a weapon, even healing magic harms the undead.

Negative: For the most part negative energy is what causes creatures to age and die. Released when a creature dies, negative energy is the primary energy in making the undead live (as it were). Negative energy is primarily attack with some supportive spells. Effective against living creatures as positive energy is effective against undead. Negative energy heals the undead. The polar opposite of Positive Energy.

Holy: Perhaps many people get Holy energy confused with Positive energy. While Holy energy can do everything that positive energy does, it does it better. Holy energy is pure good energy. Creatures that are good have some holy energy attached to their souls (though never in enough quantity to harm evil creatures). Holy energy effects evil creatures instead of undead. So even a healing application of Holy energy will harm an evil creature. The polar opposite of Unholy energy.

Unholy: Like Holy energy is at times confused with Positive energy, Unholy energy is at times confused with Negative energy. Unholy energy is basically a more powerful form of negative energy, but decidedly evil in feel and nature. Evil creatures have Unholy energy attached to their souls. Unholy energy effects good creatures instead of living creatures. Unholy energy can be used to heal evil creatures. The polar opposite of Holy energy. Only listed to give others ideas.

Shadow: Not to be confused with negative energy or unholy energy, Shadow energy is all about darkness and illusions. This energy type can even be used to manipulate other creatures (needs permission of target(s)). The polar opposite of Light energy.

Light: Not to be confused with positive or holy energy, Light energy is all about light and the truth. This energy type is strong in protective magic, even releasing creatures from mental control and such. The polar opposite of Shadow energy.

Divine: Supreme energy wielded by gods and goddesses and Worldeaters. This energy can do anything. But for anything less than a deity or Worldeater (not sealed) to use Divine energy requires a great deal amount of energy. If anything that is not of the two above listed is to use Divine energy, they may die if not careful. The polar opposite of Omega energy.

Omega: Supreme energy wielded by gods and goddesses and Worldeaters. This energy is only capable of attack and has no defenses. This energy is also the only type of energy that can kill deities and Worldeaters, the reasoning behind this is that any type of immortality the target has (if hit(being hit is completely up to the target's player) is immediately lost (i.e., the target becomes MORTAL). While powerful, because even deities and Worldeaters must use a great deal of energy to use this type of energy, it is not a good idea for anything less than those two creatures to use such energy, as even a sealed Worldeater would find itself in a coma for a month with even a simple application of Omega energy, anything else will find itself in a similar or worse predicament. The polar opposite of Divine energy.

About polar opposites, what this means is that to counter an ability/spell with a certain type, it is best to use its polar opposite (a water wall is far more effective at blocking a fireball for example than an earth wall) in defense (of course certain types have little or no defensive applications and thus some sort of attack application is needed to block). And it can be a very bad idea to counter an attack with an attack of the same type (fireball vs fireball = very nasty explosion for example).

A special energy mana cap of 8 is in play for the time being. Each time she uses a spell that is composed of only one special energy (light, shadow, or holy) this number is reduced by one. If she uses a spell that uses more than one special energy, than her special energy mana is reduced by a number of points equal to the number of energies included (not including the non-special energies). Example: She uses a spell that uses Light and Holy, than she loses 2 mana. All divine spells use all her mana, regardless of how many points she has left, but the less amount of mana left, the weaker the spell. Omega energy is a special exemption to this energy use. As even the simplest of spells using Omega energy result in her falling into a coma type state for days. The most powerful of Omega spells can actually kill her. So, she tends not to even think about these spells. These rules are not applicable if her seal is for some reason (this would have to be the result of some type of Deep Forest event that would revolve around abusing her power, and never in any normal RP thread.) broken or removed, even temporary. If her seal is broken she has full and unlimited usage of her abilities.

There are also basically three different types of “magic” abilities found in creation, Magic, Spiritual, and Psychic. Magic =/= Spiritual =/= Psychic. Defense against one type does not mean defense against the others, the same is true for vulnerabilities.

First RP in these lands:
It had been one day since her arrival to the new forest. At least, for this particular forest. And her scrying magic did not tell her anything. She worried she might be in a new dimension or reality. But she wouldn’t be able to tell. Her magic couldn’t tell, so how would she now.

The transition to the new forest was sudden and unexpected. But it did nothing else it seemed. So Lyrial had decided to do some exploration.

But, it had been some time since she started exploring. And she was getting rather bored. ”Uhg, I’m bored!” She said out loud.

Orb was in Mentor Mode.

Whereas both Orb's Friend Mode and Caregiver Mode didn’t really know what to do with themselves when they were alone (at least, not yet), Mentor Mode was perfectly content to wander about the forest, the Companion's new home, lost in the miasma of her own thoughts. This became an important feature for when she was required to travel long distances, such as now, when she was following a sudden urge to explore the nearby cliffs to the south of her location.

She could see the mountains and, hence, the location of the cliffs, not too far in the distance. After scanning the kilometers between herself and the cliffs in the x-ray portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, she estimated that she would arrive at the foot of the cliffs in about an hour or so at her current meandering pace. Her Friend Mode could have moved faster, but Orb in Mentor Mode possessed an aesthetic sense that allowed her to enjoy the forest at a visceral level, and the Companion knew that her travel time would pass quickly and pleasantly.

It was as she refocused on the visible wavelengths of the spectrum that she heard the protestation of boredom nearby. Curious, the currently teenager-sized Orb quickly closed in on its source and, from behind some obscuring trees and undergrowth, saw the mysterious, long-haired young lady that had obviously made it.

The thoughts that crossed Orb’s mind were more like those of her Friend Mode than her Mentor Mode, which was disorienting, but situation-appropriate and, as her modes continued to bleed into one another, something that the Companion knew that she would have to get used to sooner or later. Looks like she needs a friend. I should stay in Mentor Mode to roughly approximate her apparent age, I think. But…can I make friends outside of Friend Mode? I guess there’s only one way to find out.

Orb walked out from behind the pseudo-wall of thick plant life and revealed herself to the young lady. “Hi. My name’s Orb. If you’re bored, I’m heading for the cliffs about an hour south of here, and you’re welcome to join me.”

Someone spoke! Surprising Lyrial. "Eep!" Turnign towards the source of the sound Lyrial was preparing an escape spell when she spotted the mass of magical marbles. This gave her pause. Than she blinked, her eyes shifting to the colors of curiosity. She had never before seen something as unique as this.

Better yet, it had invited her to the cliffs. "A trip to the cliffs sounds like a good plan. Yeah, I'll tag along." Lyrial said as she smiled. Plus this gave her time to study the new creature. She was interested in her.

"Name is Lyrial Eailiolery. Do you have a name?" First things first, to get a name to call the strange creature.

Apparently, my Mentor Mode still has some things to learn about the finer points of interpersonal interactions.

Orb had rounded the corner and surprised the young lady, who consequently let out a shocked yelp right over Orb’s initial introduction of herself, so Lyrial (a name Orb now knew because she had heard her conversation partner say her own name just fine) obviously didn’t hear it, which was probably why she was asking for the Companion’s name again. Orb made a mental note to make throat-clearing noises or something the next time she was inclined to make an unsolicited introduction of herself.

The act of making this mental note, however, caused Orb to slightly question her Mentor Mode’s capabilities in this particular situation, which was probably for the best, because this mode was naturally inclined to do something like scoff and roll her eyes (or at least a couple of marbles) at the young lady’s annoying request for a name that had already been given. Instead, now understanding that the last thing that Lyrial needed was her Mentor Mode’s attitude, Orb re-calibrated her response to something friendlier, if perhaps a little stiff from untrained and unstudied awkwardness.

“Yes. My name is Orb, and it’s a pleasure to meet you, Lyrial. I hope you don’t mind a little bit of a hike, because the cliffs are about an hour from here at a walking pace.” A thought suddenly occurred to the Companion, and she tilted her head a bit to express her own curiosity. “Unless you can move more quickly? I can move much more quickly myself, if need be, and I noticed that your eyes changed color right after I…after I startled you. Sorry about that, by the way. I don’t suppose you have any other tricks up your sleeve?”

Unable to resist “peeking”, Orb quickly flipped her visual perception through a few non-visual wavelengths as she finished speaking to assess Lyrial’s physical presence. She couldn’t quite make sense of a couple of the wavelengths, but one thing was clear.

This young lady might have quite a few tricks up her sleeve…

Ah crap, as usual, Lyrial missed it when someone introduced themselves. But, than again, she was startled by Orb's sudden appearance. Lyrial couldn't help but blush a little at getting startled in the first place. Can't believe I got startled! I am so embarrassed! She thought to herself.

"An hour hike? That's fine with me. But yes, I can move faster." Lyrial said. Than Orb spoke about her eyes. Lyrial never thought it was odd that her eyes shifted colors. It was natural for her. But its not often that someone speaks up about the eye changing colors. "My eye color shifts to show my emotion. Been that way ever since I was born."

Than of course there was the question about other tricks. "As for other tricks, I can do magic."

“Oh, you’re a magical being!” Orb straightened her head back up to its natural upright position. “That certainly explains a few things. I myself am originally from a entire magically enhanced civilization.” The Companion decided not to go into too much detail regarding the fact that she was merely a discarded toy from this advanced civilization. “And in a manner something like the reverse of how your eye colors shift to show emotion, I can shift my own form to suit different tasks, such as moving very quickly.”

To elaborate, Orb bent an arm back behind her at an angle that would have been impossible for a humanoid with proper bones, reached into her rucksack, and began to drain marbles from her own form into the sack. As she shrank in size, her clothing and the rucksack itself magically shrank as well, and in just a few moments, Orb had entered her child-sized Friend Mode.

The newly immature Orb suddenly decided that she wanted to see just how fast Lyrial was. “Let’s race to the cliffs!”

Orb was so excited that she didn't even wait for a sign of agreement from Lyrial. The Companion quickly turned and, giggling in delight, bolted into the depths the forest, heading as fast as she could (not demigod fast, obviously, but still pretty fast) towards the cliffs to the south.

A magical being...yes, one could call Worldeaters that. Of course, it was obvious to Lyrial that Orb was some sort of magical creature herself. She watched in awe as Orb shrunk in size...and than before Lyrial knew it, Orb was off on foot race before she could react. Smiling Lyrial decided to give chase.

"You are on!" She yelled at Orb before going into a speed burst of her own. Though typically Lyrial would have used her magic to fly, but, this was a foot race. But Orb would soon realize that Lyrial was not slow. No, Lyrial was extremely fast. And thus she easily caught up to Orb. But instead of just passing her by Lyrial decided to keep pace with her.

"Tell me one thing Orb, what are you exactly?"

Orb squealed in delight upon seeing Lyrial come up next to her, on foot, seemingly without much effort. “I’m a toy! But I can’t explain it any more or else I’ll stop running! And I can’t explain why that will happen either or else I’ll stop running!” The Companion dodged a fallen log, then continued. ”But I can still listen just fine! So what are you, Lyrial? Something neat, I’ll bet!”

- - - -

The two runners quickly arrived at the cliffs. Orb slowed, then stopped, gazing out upon the open sea for only a few moments before deciding that there was a better way to enjoy the sight before her. Tendrils of marbles reached out from Orb and entered her rucksack, and in a matter of moments, she had retrieved enough marbles to return herself to her larger Mentor Mode.

The Companion, suddenly in the mood to convey information, then turned to Lyrial and spoke again. ”You asked earlier what I am. I suppose now is as good a time as any to answer that question. Basically, I am a malfunctioning toy from another dimension, created, as I implied previously, by a magically advanced civilization. The child that once owned me sent me to another random dimension rather than let her parents erase my memory and destroy my budding consciousness. I have three different modes of operation, each with different personalities and capabilities. Although my previous mode can run fast, my present mode is best suited to explain things, which is why I couldn’t answer your question until now.”

Orb looked out over the seascape in contented silence for a few moments before speaking again. ”It certainly is lovely here. I’m glad we came.” She then turned to the cliffs themselves. ”Care to join me for a climb, Lyrial? The view might be even better from up there somewhere.”

((ooc: Sorry for the delay))
IC:
A toy? Hm...that was interesting. But, something else was amiss. It seamed Orb's personality had changed. It had became more childish, sort of. Than Orb asked Lyrial what she was. This possed a problem. If Orb was indeed a toy, than would she be able to understand what she was? Most creatures that learned of her true nature would normally shy away from her out of fear. Than before she knew it, they were out at the cliffs gazing at the ocean. It was a terrific sight.

Than Orb explained what she was. Malfunctioning? How so? She did not appear to be malfunctioning to Lyrial. As for the climb..."Sure, lets climb up and get a better view. Along the way I'll explain to you what I am."

"Simply put, my kind are called "Worldeaters" by mortal races due to what happened to one planet being eaten by an evil Worldeater. Worldeaters are both children of the gods and weapons of the gods. Originally my kind possessed no sentience for the first two god wars. After the second war of the gods the good gods and most neutral gods decided to grant sentience to their Worldeaters. Soon after my parents got to together and had my brother and me. That is basically what I am. A Worldeater, third generation."

Orb listened to Lyrial describe who and what she was as the marble-being reached out with extended arms and legs and climbed upwards, higher into the cliffs, her glass form heavy enough to avoid being knocked around too much by the relatively high winds. Disconcertingly, although Orb’s Mentor Mode tried to be as knowledgable as possible about every topic, she was completely dumbfounded by what she was hearing. Apparently, Lyrial was a direct descendent of the gods of this universe, but…she didn’t seem…godlike? Orb supposed, after a moment’s thought, that this was a silly observation, as the Companion had never met a god before and, thus, had no meaningful frame of reference. But shouldn’t Lyrial be more powerful? And perhaps have more important things to do than enjoy an afternoon with a newly sentient toy, as grateful as said toy might have been for the company?

When the Worldeater finished her explanation, Orb spoke to the questions that had been bouncing around in her head, her vertical pace up the cliffs remaining unbroken as she did so. ”My Friend Mode was right. You are neat. I hope you don’t mind my piqued curiosity, as I’ve never encountered a being so close to the gods themselves before, but…how powerful are you? Could you actually eat a world, as at least one of your predecessors apparently could?”

As Orb finished speaking, she climbed upon a flat shelf of rock that jutted out from the cliffs, a shelf that came complete with a cave behind them offering a bit of potential shelter from the winds if it became necessary. She looked out over the view before her, which had indeed improved even from that which she and Lyrial saw below, and raised her arms out from her body a bit in an abstract display of satisfaction. ”And if that question’s too personal, we could just enjoy this stunning view with smaller talk!”

That question, while personal, really did not need Lyrial to give away the fact that she had her magic sealed. "Well, I have destroyed a planet before, so I know I'm at least that powerful. As I am still an young Worldeater I still have room for growing." Now, the second question, that almost made Lyrial laugh...almost.

"I'm a good Worldeater, and good Worldeaters do not eat planets, the evil ones do. No different than eating a mortal's soul really. Good creatures don't do that." Lyrial said as if that was all it was. Though she still wanted to laugh as Orb obviously needed to learn more about good and evil if she thought Lyrial...than it occured to Lyrial that the question was, COULD, not WOULD. "Well, I'm to small to eat a planet, but if I was large enough, I'm sure I could."

Orb learned three interesting things as her new acquaintence continued to speak, the two of them looking out over the sea as she did so: that Lyrial was young, that she was not at the peak of her power, and, most importantly, that she was good.

When the Worldeater finished speaking, Orb spoke to that last point while continuing to gaze upon the water. ”I’m glad that you’re good. I think that I’m good, too. I mean, all three of my modes are capable of being…self-centered…even a little rude, in their own individual ways, but none of them would be inclined to eat a planet or a soul or anything like that...” Orb thought a moment about more pleasant matters. ”And, speaking of being good and eating…”

Tendrils of marbles reached out from Orb's body and into her rucksack, and she retrieved the remaining marbles into her form. Her clothing, as it was designed to do, automatically resized itself to fit Orb’s new, larger frame. Now in Caregiver Mode, the marble-woman reached out one of her arms, projected a series of multicolored lights within her curled fingers, and formed a clear, filled pitcher within her outstretched hand, seemingly out of the light itself.

Orb then turned directly to Lyrial. ”You don’t look thirsty, but looks can be deceiving. It was a long climb, after all. Would you like some water?”
